Planted this fenugreek a month ago outside and now I have a lovely crop of Methi. Wondering what to make with this – Methi Murgh, Methi Ke Paranthe, Aloo Methi so many possibilities! The growth was a bit slow as it has been getting cold from time to time especially at night. Metgi is quick growing and can grow on very poor soils. In India it’s an important source of income for the poor who plant it on the side of train tracks and even on the beach. It’s really a wonder crop as it has many health giving properties according to Ayurveda including: promoting healthy digestion by improving liver health and, interestingly increasing the flow of breast milk! I won’t harvest it just yet but probably will do in a week as tender methi is the best.
